We often get asked what we are. We have stumbled over this question for years because we don't fit well into a box. Are you a school? Yes, but not really. You see our point? We sat down and took time to define ourselves and this is what we came up with:
We are a homeschool resource. We are a private program. We are a hybrid program. We are a complete 900 hour program for families. We are not a co-op. We are not an enrichment program. We are unique in that we provide all subjects and base our lessons off of the standards set forth by the state of Ohio. We are a preschool through high school program. Our teachers do not take a stance on political or religious matters. We believe that those topics should be handled at home by the parents. We are messy and like to go outside. We are not judgmental. We are a home away from home.
Going into our seventh year, we will continue to focus on treating the whole child while incorporating a laid-back and family atmosphere. We will challenge your child while making them feel safe and included.
In-person classes will be held from 8 am to 3 pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Work will be sent home with the student on Tuesday and Thursday for your Wednesday and Friday work-at-home days.
We understand not all kids learn at the same pace and each student will have their own journey. We will work hard to meet your child where they are and help guide them to the next step. We empower students to make choices that will benefit them in the future and lead them on a path to success. At JET Education Center children are taught and encouraged to work as a team, supporting each other rather than competing with one another. "The only time you should be looking down on a person is when you are helping them get up"Jesse Jackson. Each child is different and needs something different. Our small classes and multi-year learning groups give us time to get to know the student and learn what motivates them. JET Education Center teachers build an individualized grading scale and goal system for each student, allowing every student the ability to grow and succeed.
Imagine how well a teacher gets to know the students if he/she has them 7 hours a day for four years! We know when they are truly struggling, or if they just need a loving push. We form relationships with each of the students. The child knows what to expect and feels safe coming back the next year.
Recognizing there are three major learning styles, auditory, visual, and kinesthetic we utilize a wide variety of teaching styles. In the past, students have written papers, built dioramas, planted a garden, participated in a science fair, designed and constructed a board game including 3D printing game pieces, authored comic books, added art to umbrellas, and so much more. JET Education Center is not only a place of learning but also a place for students to feel safe, which may be the most important part of the entire program. We at JET, choose to keep our program small in order to foster strong bonds and a family atmosphere. Bottom line-- WE CARE. Give us a call and schedule a visit.
We can't wait to meet you.
The 2026-2027 school year will focus on Africa, Antarctica, and Australia. We will continue to integrate lessons as we virtually travel through the world. We are big readers but also fans of audiobooks. We will read or listen to a book a month related to topics we are discussing in class. Mostly, we are going to have lots of fun in a safe and welcoming environment.
Our Geography Rotation:
2026/2027- Africa, Antarctica, Australia

Please keep in mind, we are a home school option and while we do our best to provide the coursework to adhere to the 900 hours required by homeschoolers, your child's education is still your responsibility.

We have partnered with Therapy Works Cincy to provide speech, occupational therapy, intervention and therapy. They are on site everyday and work to accommodate your busy schedule.
If your child has an IEP or receives the Jon Peterson Scholarship or Autism Scholarship they may qualify for free services. Please reach out to them directly by sending an email to melissa.winterod@therapyworkscincy.com . Tell her you are an incoming JET family.
JET Education center has been such a blessing to our family. They met my son where he was emotionally and socially and provided the safe, nurturing environment he needed to grow so that he could show his full potential. The staff is kind, flexible, and patient. They provide an educational setting that is student driven, based on interest and need, which is why my 14 year old son says he can't wait to get back to school this coming August. I don't know what we would do if we didn't have this program as an option for our son's education. We are forever grateful for the staff at JET! Seneca T.
My daughter started in preschool in Fall of 2025; before we knew it she had moved up to kindergarten and she has flourished. She's challenged and loves learning, as well as, doing her assigned homework. JET is full of caring and engaging teachers who make learning fun for these kids. Lauren A
JET Education Center has been an incredible blessing to our family. My children, now 11 and 13, have been part of this community since kindergarten. It gives me the freedom to work while still being deeply involved in my children's education, which is something I truly value.
The learning environment is supportive and flexible, without the pressure of standardized testing or one-size-fits-all expectations. Each child is treated as an individual, with the freedom to learn, grow, and explore their strengths. I'm so grateful for a place that truly supports both families and learning. Best of all, I get to learn right alongside my kids and remain an active part of their educational journey. Ashley W
The following is an assignment written by a sophomore. She was asked to write about her safe place:
My Safe Place
By Jaydin Boothby
My Safe Place is my school. It is my safe place because of the people in it and the atmosphere. The people at my school, JET Education Center, make me feel like a part of their family. They make every kid feel special. When I lost my dad I got cards and hugs from not only my teacher but others too. I mean, really, they care so much. When I came to JET I felt so alone and had been bullied a lot at my last school. I was scared it would happen here, but then I found a family in JET. It is the place where not only did I find a school, I found a community. They push me to be my best, not because they get paid more because trust me they don't, but because they truly care.
Speaking of caring people, my teacher is Mrs. Meghan. She is a huge part of my school and my life. Meghan has always been there for us to help us with anything. She works so hard to keep the school running for us kids. Meghan also stays after school to help us with work and if we are willing to put in the work, she's always willing to help. Not only is she an amazing teacher, she is a wonderful person inside and outside of the classroom, like when a kid ran away from home and she went to go help look for them. I mean I've never seen a teacher care so much for a kid that isn't theirs. Meghan also makes school fun and enjoyable. Which is great because I really don't like school, especially math. She knows that and helps me with it. Meghan loves every single one of us even when we are jerk faces. She is silly, funny and is always herself which teaches us we can always do the same. We are so much more to her than just a pay check, which says a lot because she does not get paid a lot. She is truly a huge part of my life and my safe place.
Another person that makes my safe space feel that way would be Mrs. Amy. I think maybe sometimes her hard work goes unnoticed. She works in the office but she is also in the classrooms. She cares about your life and your grades. Amy is such a good listener and she never judges. She also knows a lot about the kids in her school like family history, names of family members and even day to day things that happen in your life. Amy is so much more than an office lady, she's a nurse, teacher, counselor, and most importantly a friend.
Next, are two lovely people who made middle school bearable, Mrs. April and Mrs. Melissa. Mrs. April is one of the kindest people I know and was my teacher when I started at JET. She is so nice. I have only ever heard her yell once in the entire time I had her. I really don't know how she does it. She has one of the hardest age groups and she makes it seem like nothing. She is also the teacher who got me through some of the hardest times. April is the teacher who made me believe in good teachers and she is a big reason why I want to be a teacher.
Mrs. Melissa was the assistant teacher in middle school and is now the teacher of Primary. She is super cool and was like one of my best friends in middle school. We would always talk to her about everything that was happening in and outside of school. Melissa always had a good solution to everything. She also gives really good hugs. Melissa taught a class on life skills and it was my favorite class. Now I know I have told you some of the best things about these amazing women and no, they are not perfect, but they show up every day and do the best they can to make this school a safe place.
I can't finish telling you about my school until I talk about my fellow school mates. I can't talk about every single one of them, but I love and care for all of them even if I don't list all of their names. So first is Branson Taylor. He is so smart and caring. He is always willing to help others. He also tries to include everyone. He's the first kid I met and a good friend of mine. Next, is Emma Bowman. She is one of my best and longest friends. She is super smart and open minded. She can keep calm under pressure and work her way through hard things. Next is Elsie Watson. If there was one word to describe her it would be protective. She cares a lot about people and stands up for others. Max Bowman is a super funny kid who lights up every room he walks in with a simple joke.
Well that's a few, and there are so many more that I would never be able to finish. All of these people make up a school where I feel safe, seen, and loved. JET is my home and the place I feel the safest.

We are parents, too, and we understand the daily struggles of homeschooling. Let's face it, sometimes your child needs to hear the same information you have been trying to teach them from someone else. We know that when we traditionally homeschooled our kids, there was sometimes conflict about kids not wanting to do the work assigned. We often felt guilty too worrying about socialization and making sure we covered everything we needed.

Our goal is to "meet kids where they are" and to provide a safe, loving, family-feeling environment for students to be themselves and thrive. We endeavor to instill a life-long love of learning, and to guide our students on the path to a happy and fulfilling life, whatever form that takes for them.
