We often get asked what we are. We have stumbled over this question for years because we don't fit well into a box. Are you a school? Yes, but not really. You see our point? We sat down and took time to define ourselves and this is what we came up with:
We are a homeschool resource. We are a private program. We are hybrid program. We are a complete 900 hour program for families. We are not a co-op. We are not an enrichment program. We are unique in that we provide all subjects and base our lessons off of the standards set forth by the state of Ohio. We are a preschool through high school program. Our teachers do not take a stance on political or religious matters. We believe that those topics should be handled at home by the parents.
Going into our fifth year, we will continue to focus on treating the whole child while incorporating a laid-back and family atmosphere. We will challenge your child while making them feel safe and included.
In-person classes will be held from 8 am to 3 pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Work will be sent home with the student on Tuesday and Thursday for your Wednesday and Friday work-at-home days.
We understand not all kids learn at the same pace and each student will have their own journey. We will work hard to meet your child where they are and help guide them to the next step. We empower students to make choices that will benefit them in the future and lead them on a path to success. At JET Education Center children are taught and encouraged to work as a team, supporting each other rather than competing with one another. "The only time you should be looking down on a person is when you are helping them get up" Jesse Jackson. Each child is different and needs something different. Our small classes and multi-year learning groups give us time to get to know the student and learn what motivates them. JET Education Center teachers build an individualized grading scale and goal system for each student, allowing every student the ability to grow and succeed.
Imagine how well a teacher gets to know the students if he/she has them 7 hours a day for four years! We know when they are truly struggling, or if they just need a loving push. We form relationships with each of the students. The child knows what to expect and feels safe coming back the next year.
Recognizing there are three major learning styles, auditory, visual, and kinesthetic we utilize a wide variety of teaching styles. In the past, students have written papers, built dioramas, planted a garden, participated in a science fair, designed and constructed a board game including 3D printing game pieces, authored comic books, added art to umbrellas, and so much more. JET Education Center is not only a place of learning but also a place for students to feel safe, which may be the most important part of the entire program. We at JET, choose to keep our program small in order to foster strong bonds and a family atmosphere. Bottom line-- WE CARE. Give us a call and schedule a visit.
We can't wait to meet you.
The 2024-2025 school year will focus on Europe. We will continue to integrate lessons as we virtually travel through the world. We are big readers but also fans of audiobooks. We will read or listen to a book a month related to topics we are discussing in class. Mostly, we are going to have lots of fun in a safe and welcoming environment.

JET education center has been such a blessing to our family. They met my son where he was emotionally and socially and provided the safe, nurturing environment he needed to grow so that he could show his full potential. The staff is kind, flexible, and patient. They provide an educational setting that is student driven, based on interest and need, which is why my 14 year old son says he can't wait to get back to school this coming August. I don't know what we would do if we didn't have this program as an option for our son's education. We are forever grateful for the staff at JET!

We are parents too and we understand the daily struggles of homeschooling. Let's face it, sometimes your child needs to hear the same information you have been trying to teach them from someone else. We know that when we traditionally homeschooled our kids, there was sometimes conflict about kids not wanting to do the work assigned. We often felt guilty too worrying about socialization and making sure we covered everything we needed.
Our goal is to "meet kids where they are" and to provide a safe, loving, family-feeling environment for students to be themselves and thrive. We endeavor to instill a life-long love of learning, and to guide our students on the path to a happy and fulfilling life, whatever form that takes for them.
